“La Cabane” is a 10m2 urban habitat for one person.
Its dimensions are 3,5m x 2,6m x 2,3m.

It contains:
-1 bed (120x200cm)
-1 wardrobe (70x60cm)
-1 worktop (280x60cm)
-1 shelf (40x200cm)
-Additional closets under and over the bed
-1 night tablet
-1 shower (80x200cm)
-1 folding sink
-1 WC
-1 closet for dirty clothes
-1 closet for bathroom items
-1 mirror (80x230cm)
-1 bin
-1 kettle
-1 doormat
-1 turntable

Walls and roof are built as wooden frames assembled on site by 2 workers. The whole envelope rests over the remains of an old water storage unit built on top of the roof of a building in Barcelona’s city center. 3 openings bring light and ventilation to the cabin: the main door, the window next to the bed and the bathroom’s skylight.

Mirrors reflect these openings. They broaden the perspectives, erase the limits of the box. . The plywood panels create furniture and organize the strips of the interior space of the cabin. A translucent curtain allows to expand the bathroom-shower, temporarily borrowing some space from the central corridor. Light and views are regulated by rolling screens inside and by sliding doors and blinds outside.
