LA PRIMERA is tucked away in a quiet, almost secret alley, in a corner of Milan that feels suspended in time, preserving the authentic atmosphere of historic neighborhoods. Within this unique context, the renovation project unfolds across three levels, with the aim of restoring the identity of the place while reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens.

At the heart of the project is the internal staircase, conceived as both a functional and aesthetic spine: it connects the different floors and organizes the spaces in a fluid and dynamic way. Around it, the layout develops into an open-plan living area with kitchen and dining space, a master bedroom with walk-in closet and main bathroom on the second floor, and a second room on the top level designed as a hybrid space — studio, relaxation area, or guest room. Completing the project is a terrace, a small retreat opening onto the rooftops of Milan, an intimate urban refuge to enjoy warm, sunlit days.

The color palette expresses a warm and tactile atmosphere: sage green and terracotta tones blend with neutrals, enriched by Kalin blue accents, creating a balance of vibrant, energetic, and sophisticated contrasts. Carefully selected materials enhance the project through rich, tactile textures that amplify the sense of comfort.

Alongside iconic design pieces, vintage furniture and elements have been thoughtfully integrated to give the apartment a unique and personal character. A project that brings together memory and contemporaneity, functionality and identity, in a continuous dialogue between interior space and the urban context.
