Against the backdrop of a paradisiacal setting, the Gávea Roof facing the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon and overlooking Christ the Redeemer, in Rio de Janeiro.
When she was called to develop the project to decorate the outdoor area, architect Hana Lerner Rosalen was inspired by the bossa carioca and the needs of her client – a businessman – to create a space where he could receive family and friends, put his culinary skills into practice, relax and even work. "He loves to cook and entertain, so it was critical that there was plenty of place to sit, like a large living room, but outdoors," she explains.
To give life to an environment that was comfortable and functional, the professional bet on a Fusion sofa, signed by designer Maria Cândida Machado, Marina armchairs and puffs, as well as a large dining table with a porcelain top from the Slim line, in composition with Giardino chairs. "The sofa is a very generous size and the dining table is incredible, with eight seats, made of a material that can be exposed to both the sun and the rain."
The architect invested in a color palette with different shades of blue that, according to her, dialogues well with the carioca vibe, harmonizes with the sky and nature and contrasts with the green of the pool. "I also brought orange as a point of color, which is a feature I like to have in my projects."
Working with the concept of integration, the balcony became an extension of the internal part of the Penthouse, where the suite is located. "It is a space that can be used day and night, making maximum use of it. It brings a stripped-down and, at the same time, sophisticated style," he says.
