In Kyiv, Ukraine, designer Katerina Churina and her Churina Design studio (ex. TABOORET) has created a multi-functional workspace for L’Oreal Ukraine, maintaining a balance between technology and sophisticated design.
This is a new look at the workspace in accordance with the challenges of our time. The Activity Based Working principle allows employees to work in any area, and the thoughtful design reflects the philosophy of L'Oreal.

L'Oréal is a world beauty-tech leader, which creates a close emotional connection not only with consumers, but also with employees. The company's management wished the new office to reflect the unique features of the brand and key elements of its philosophy: beauty, innovation, sustainability and care for employees.
It was decided to decorate the minimalist interior in a soft color scheme with a predominance of natural shades.

Designer Katerina Churina faced the challenge of designing as many zones as possible for efficient work and comfortable rest. According to the Activity Based Working concept, working places are not assigned to employees. Depending on the task and preferences, people can choose the best place to work or rest on their own.
A large auditorium or meeting rooms are perfect for fruitful teamwork. A comfortable kitchen-dining room with a large table disposes to continuing friendly communication with colleagues. To build quick connections with the IT team a digital query kiosk was thought out. Most of the room is occupied by a spacious open-space with large tables and computers.

A special role is assigned to cozy lounge zones, where one can work in silence.
The heart of the office is a greenhouse, which is located near the panoramic windows. It has become a favorite place for relaxation for the L'Oreal team. Here one can recharge, take a break from the office noise and plunge into the atmosphere of the tropics without leaving the office.

In contrast to the bustling city outside the window, an atmosphere of relaxation and harmony reigns here. A sense of unity with nature is intensified by the birdsong which sounds from the speakers. High-tech ventilation and air conditioning equipment created a special microclimate in the greenhouse.
Next to the greenhouse is a cozy library, a perfect place to isolate from noise and work in silence.

Details contribute to the comfort. The new L’Oreal Ukraine office design is created for high communication and productive work.
Katerina Churina and her team managed to create a workforce ecosystem which meets the needs of each department, and the interior inspires the creation of beauty.

Conceptual design solutions have been implemented with the compliance of all the COVID-19 rules and restrictions. Inclusive design will provide the office with comfort and security where everyone feels valued and heard.
