Loutra summer house

House Loutra on the Cycladic island of Tinos: a perfect union between tradition and minimalism. The minimalist decor highlights the historical details of this century-old stone house: a four-meter high ceiling with exposed wooden beams, a typical round arch (“volto”) in the living and dining area, and wooden windows and doors with traditional lintels (“hyperthyron”). Its restoration preserved the irregularities in the plaster of the walls and retained the spatial arrangement – including the small rudimentary kitchen. The bathroom has been adapted to modern needs and stands out from the rest of the house with its yellow color accents. The house features two two-person bedrooms (one of which has its own sleeping loft), and another for one person in the former pigpen. At the front and rear of the house there are two little courtyards. The house is located in the car-free historic village of Loutra, about 8 km from Tinos Town.

What to do Walks to the neighboring villages (several centuries-old paths pass by the house which lead to the surrounding villages), swimming (the nearest beach is 9 minutes away), museums, music and cultural festivals.

Why we like this house This authentic and simple Cycladic-style house has a very relaxed, quiet atmosphere.
