Bold, sexy and playful, Maple & Ash created a new way to celebrate with its innovative steakhouse. Unlike other Chicago steakhouses, Maple & Ash uses hints of traditional elements with contemporary applications. Greens, purples and yellows create a youthful color palette, proving that steakhouses aren’t just for your grandfather. Maple & Ash was inspired by the anatomy of fire.

Located downstairs, Eight Bar is Maple & Ash's casual counterpart. It feels like an old school cigar lounge with vintage photographs and shades of blue, cream and gold. The first floor bar, serving designer cocktails and small plates, functions are the entrance for a more formal dining room on the third floor. More casual than the upstairs, the first floor features refined millwork and patterned glass alongside a custom bar bar and artisinal plaster walls.

Heading upstairs, the open kitchen allows guests a glimpse inside to experience the chief using the custom wood burning hearth. In the dining room, glass doors framed in blackened steel with brass detailing surround a double height indoor courtyard. A custom jewelry inspired chandelier adds drama to the space. Brass bar carts allow for mobile bartenders to serve signature cocktails tableside. Rich jeweltoned leathers and natural woods exude a feeling of sophisticated warmth and comfort. A favorite design feature is the unique water color wall covering behind the bar, which adds a dramatic smoky ambiance to the space. The swirling back bar design is inspired by the smoke rising while cooking a steak. The name Maple & Ash comes from the restaurant’s location on Maple Street, the ash from cooking steak on embers.
