Masseria Settarte

The project is located in a section of the Masseria Fantese, an extensive agricultural complex situated in the Apulia region of southern Italy. This architectural ensemble consists of several buildings that stand out for their distinctive local style. This group of buildings represents an atypical example of a masseria with a linear plan, which contrasts with the traditional design featuring a central courtyard.

From a historical perspective, it is identified as a set of three elements, each dating back to a different period. The architectural intervention highlights this historical continuity. The restoration and preservation of the old part (trulli), the rationalization of part of the old farmstead (casale), and a small extension made in the early 20th century have been carried out.

The masseria and trulli complex has been rehabilitated with a modern program, creating a vacation residence with independent guest rooms and suites. Natural materials and traditional construction solutions are used, integrating into a setting with a beautiful landscape that is rich in natural resources and ethnological heritage—a landscape shaped by human activity.
