Company Interior Design That Heals and Inspires
At Turnkey Interiors, we believe company interior design should extend beyond function – it should nurture comfort, healing, and accessibility. Our transformation of the Breast Care Centre of Excellence (BCCE) at Miller House stands as a proud example. Taking on the challenge of revitalising a 100-year-old heritage building, we crafted a modern, welcoming healthcare environment while honouring its architectural legacy. This project underscores our passion for creating spaces that uplift both purpose and people.
Preserving the Past, Embracing the Future
Our design approach was rooted in respect for the building’s history. We retained original features such as Oregon pine floors, pressed steel ceilings, and exquisite lead-framed stained-glass windows – each lovingly restored to highlight the building’s unique character. These elements were carefully integrated with modern updates, including accessible bathrooms and a sensitively designed wheelchair ramp. The result is a seamless harmony of old and new, functionality and charm.
Designing with Accessibility and Dignity in Mind
Patient well-being was the heart of the design. The space was crafted to feel calm and nurturing, with an emphasis on accessibility. Features such as a wheelchair-friendly entrance and thoughtfully placed accessible toilet facilities were designed to blend effortlessly into the overall aesthetic – modern yet sympathetic to the heritage surroundings. Every detail was considered to ensure that all patients could experience the space with ease and dignity.
Space Planning for Comfort and Flow
Efficient space planning was essential to balance privacy, comfort, and care. The layout includes a reception area, waiting room, consultation spaces, treatment zones, and staff facilities – each arranged to facilitate a smooth flow while preserving a sense of serenity. Notably, an old garage was reimagined as a bright, tranquil waiting area, offering a gentle pause for patients before their appointments. The layout promotes healing, functionality, and community connection.
Aesthetic Calm Through Natural Design
The interior design was shaped to evoke peace and reassurance. A palette of light tones, natural textures, and biophilic design elements created an environment where patients feel calm and supported. Generous natural light filters through heritage windows, while original timber flooring brings warmth underfoot. The result is a soft, inviting interior where historic beauty and contemporary comfort coexist.
Outcome: Where Heritage Meets Healthcare Excellence
The transformation of Miller House showcases Turnkey Interiors’ ability to sensitively adapt historical structures for modern use. We delivered a design that honours the past while supporting present-day healthcare needs. This project is a celebration of compassionate design, heritage preservation, and functional space planning – all brought together to serve patients with dignity and care.
