A mirroring cube between the entrances of the Stedelijk Museum and the Van Gogh Museum
We won the pitch to transform a technical installation space from the underlying parking lot into an object that fits better into the surroundings of the Museumplein. The idea behind this cube refers to a concept by artist Aziz Bekkaoui. The cube is covered with a reflective chrome steel finish. The philosophy behind it is twofold: first, it is a way to negate an essentially unwanted object by absorbing its volume into the environment through the mirrors. On the other hand, by creating such a mirror, the ambitious expansion of the Stedelijk and the Van Gogh Museum can be seen at a glance.
