MONTAGUT ECO-HOUSE

The site is located on the mountainside, and is facing west (coinciding with the best views). For this reason, there is the contradiction that the facade must have fewer gaps, from a bioclimatic point of view (so that housing is not hot in summer), is the front most surface, which should have more room for enjoy the beautiful views that the environment offers.

Therefore, we designed a staggered home, so that the upstairs terrace is the downstairs deck. Similarly, a set are arranged outside the west porch, which protects the home of solar radiation on summer afternoons. Finally, the large glass sheets have sunscreen, so well that only lets 10% of solar radiation.

This allows a phased manner from the street level can go directly to the last roof garden. Thus, the house goes almost unnoticed, and integrates seamlessly into the mountain.

The south-facing facade has large glass areas with sunscreen. Thus, the house stays cool in summer and warm in winter.

Due to the echelon form of housing can be easily integrated within it, a large waterfall, which incorporates a water spray. This provides a relaxing atmosphere throughout the house, and refreshes. Similarly, the entire interior of the house is torn by a large covered patio, which stimulates the housing vertical communication and ensures that it remains fresh throughout the summer and warm in winter.
