Located in the Perpetuo Socorro neighborhood of Loja, Ecuador (2,060 m.a.s.l.), the project is embedded within a consolidated urban fabric of heterogeneous character. The proposal seeks to act as a cohesive element within a visually fragmented environment, establishing a contemporary dialogue with the city.
Under the premise of maximum adaptability, the building articulates a mixed-use program that integrates health, wellness, and housing. The massing is organized into three functional strata: a public ground floor (cafe and gym), an intermediate level dedicated to medical offices, and a private crowning level housing two residential units. This programmatic stacking ensures constant activation of the facade and a vibrant relationship with the public realm.
The steel structure serves as the generative axis for the void, allowing for the opening of fluid and diaphanous spaces. The work manifests as an abstract white volume where the verticality of the rhythmic curtain wall contrasts with the horizontality of a solid plinth, providing a visual anchor that grounds the piece to its site.
