Nobu Restaurant (Kuala Lumpur)

Defining a Restaurant Experience

Nobu Restaurant, a world renowned Japanese restaurant opened its new branch at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia in 2014. Acoustic comfort was a top priority for the designers and they wanted to ensure that diners had the best possible experience. Noise also had to be isolated between the various zones of restaurant composed of a sit-down dining, sushi bar and cocktail bar area.

Soundzipper supplied Topperfo Micro-perforated plank products in Teak veneer for the ceiling areas of the restaurant ensuring noise levels were kept under control.

The small size of the Micro-perforated holes meant that dust was not a problem and the final acoustic solution was both beautiful and highly maintainable.

Acoustical partitions were installed between the zones and Topakustik custom perforated panels were integrated into these panels to ensure they functioned well as acoustical baffles to provide a good standard of sound privacy between restaurant visitors.
