The concept behind the new Nomo restaurant on Consell de Cent Street in Barcelona stems from a desire to create a haven of calm in the heart of the city—a space that speaks softly through its materials, where every element has been carefully selected. Few materials, but expressive ones: stucco walls and ceilings, tobacco-toned wood furniture, dark gray rustic flooring, and glazed tiles that, with their discreet yet vibrant presence, subtly accompany the rhythm of the space.
The layout respects the history of the site, preserving the essence of the previous establishment while subtly adapting to new needs. Three well-defined dining areas welcome guests into intimate and warm settings, connected by wood-framed passageways that gently guide the experience. Every detail has been custom-designed for this project: from the delicate slatted latticework to the tables, communal benches, and brass wall sconces that bathe the cocktail area in a light of serene elegance.
The dining areas have been designed following a logic that combines functionality and beauty: long benches hug the walls, while individual tables provide rhythm and flexibility to the service. From the ceiling, sloping planes clad in natural fiber—reminiscent of tatami—float like suspended volumes, concealing technical installations while simultaneously elevating the perception of space.
Indirect lighting is another element that ties all the spaces together, accented with spotlights to add drama and highlight the interior architecture. The lamps, selected from among design classics, bring a timeless warmth that invites you to linger, enjoy, and above all, feel. At Nomo Eixample, every corner has been designed not only to be seen, but to be felt.
