Located adjacent to POD London office, No 1 Norton Folgate is a five story office building situated on the edge of Shoreditch and The City.
The project is a mediator between traditional business and contemporary office lifestyle by stitching the fast paced City to the coolness of Shoreditch.
The office is let on a floor by floor basis by small to medium sized companies on a variety of leasing terms. POD Architects worked on a programme of refurbishment works to upgrade the reception area on Norton Folgate Street, as well as new works to upgrade the common parts and to overhaul the office space to attract new tenants.
We have carefully considered the impact of the proposal on the adjacent conservation area, with the new works enhancing the appearance and contributing to the general upgrade of the urban context and local streetscape and character of the area.
We painted the red brick black to blend into the glass and steel structures of the adjacent buildings and to provide a contemporary image to the elevations of Broad Gate and Spital square. The interior takes precedence from the now redundant factories of Shoreditch’s past, providing exposed finishes, brick walls and sleek metal ductwork.
