Office Building – Politakis Group

TAKA + PARTNERS as Architects

TAKA+PARTNERS took over the refurbishment of a two-storey office building, located in Thermi, Thessaloniki. Τhe building has a total surface of approximately 300 m2. Ground floor layout organization includes: welcome and waiting area, accounting unit, private offices, products sample space, conference room, archive room and auxiliary rooms.

The first-floor layout organization includes private offices and auxiliary spaces. The architectural concept combines functional and aesthetic upgrade together with quality of workspace enhancement. Furthermore, new technologies and means of energy management are being introduced in the building. Wood and concrete paneling together with metallic elements compose a functional workspace.

The offices are separated with glass partition units while promoting unity of space, eye contact and light through interior corridors. Green areas are integrated into space as creative and collective units for employees. The furniture is custom-made and alternative lighting sources and skylights set up suitable lighting solutions for working. KNX intelligent control and monitoring system manages lighting, air-conditioning, shading and safety systems. To that end, energy efficiency and lower energy consumption are achieved.

The building’s external shell is coated with aluminum panels and large wall tiles. Moreover, the landscape fence is constructed with fair face concrete coupled with specially designed aluminum panels. The project has been awarded by the German Design Award 2021 in the category “Excellent Architecture - Interior Architecture”.
