The hospital extension includes a park and two independent buildings: a mother/child unit and a medical centre comprising all medical specialities and facilities. With its existing classic pavilions and its location in the centre of Milan the hospital is a significant part of the city. The new park seizes the urban context and stretches as a green pedestrian course down through the hospital area. With shops, restaurants and a café this course generates a vibrant and attractive urban space for all citizens.
