A summer terrace has been created for the PICTURE'S food hall designed by the Tonko design studio. The project was developed to a tight schedule in anticipation of the summer season. It was important to extend the interior concept beyond the confines of the food hall. The challenge in the design process was to separate the relaxation area from the roadway.
To solve this problem, industrial-style COR-TEN steel planters filled with wild plants were placed around the perimeter. With limited parking space, every element of the terrace was carefully planned to achieve maximum functionality and visual appeal. A striking feature of the terrace is a burgundy canopy with unique macramé-inspired perforations.
It contrasts with the minimalist form of the planters. In clear weather, the perforations create an unusual play of light and shade. The terrace is divided into two areas, one of which was used by a team from the major food delivery company Yandex.Eats, who worked in their signature colour scheme. This style is reflected in the furniture, canopies and advertising display cases. The collaboration resulted in a vibrant space with multiple functions.
