Park and Shore, a pair of residential buildings on Jersey City’s gold coast, has recently completed. With architecture and interiors designed by Woods Bagot, the two distinct but connected buildings feature sweeping views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, as well as a collection of amenities unprecedented in the area.
Architect Gerald Gendreau, AIA, said, “The two buildings are unified by common materials. Metal and terracotta frames in natural colors visually connect the buildings to the adjacent public park. Woods Bagot designed the exterior in keeping with the scale of the buildings: 75 Park, at 38 stories, is comprised of an interlocking series of two-story frames holding floor- to-ceiling glass, while 2 Shore, at eight stories the lower building, features staggered, single- story frames. 75 Park begins with a low-rise base that extends to the street face. Its tower is set back respecting the residential community scale and provides terrific views of Manhattan and the surrounding New Jersey landscape.”
“The 358 apartments of 75 Park, along with the generous amenities, are inspired by the sophisticated legacy of American modernism,” said Woods Bagot interior designer John Pampoukidis. “Shore House is a grittier counterpoint, recalling the industrial brick past of this neighbourhood. The boutique building is inspired by the lofts of Tribeca and offers an industrial aesthetic and avant-garde design style. Its hip yet intimate aesthetic is expressed in a live oak-cladded reception desk, ship-lapped oak plank walls, a blackened steel feature wall and Edison bulbs.”
Generous outdoor space
Woods Bagot designed the building to maximize outdoor space and dramatic views. The 19th floor Sky Lounge features a demonstration kitchen and opens to a roof terrace with lush plantings, generous seating, and two bar areas for enjoying views of Manhattan skylines on festive summer evenings. The upper corner apartments benefit from balconies and the majority of the apartments have floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase picturesque views and introduce copious natural light.
A robust amenity package
Amenities at 75 Park, which are shared by residents of 2 Shore, include a library and co- working space furnished in classic leather and velvet; an elevated putting green; and a lavish fitness center complete with pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The elegant lobby is luxuriously appointed with fluted walnut wall panels, a marble slab fronting the reception desk folding to marble floor; minimalist pendant lights, and sleek yet comfortable furniture. The wine-tasting room, lounge and pantry, where residents are welcome to entertain (while social distancing, of course), features an oversized fireplace and sliding glass doors that open onto a patio. In their colorful play area, kids can play at being on a pirate ship, and take the fun outside to a protected terrace.
