Parque Apartment

Giuliano Marchiorato as Architects

The apartment is a gift to the architect. Its sunny and wooded surroundings are surrounded by the best views of the city. In the front view one sees the most famous park of the city, the Barigui. The side view is contemplated by the drawing of the Plano Massa, Padre Anchieta street in perspective of a vanishing point.

The newly opened duplex residential apartment on the 24th floor, facing north-east, is a spectacle in itself. A beautiful blank paper for the architect to create the oasis of contemporary living.

Designed for two young newlyweds and delivered on the return journey of their honeymoon: this was the couple's dream of consumption. The responsibility of realizing this dream was the architect's. The residents who were already lovers of design and art, aspired to a young, contemporary apartment that had a day-to-day language of the cosmopolitan couple. He, a multi-entrepreneur focused on innovative projects for city and she, leather parts designer and owner of one of the biggest tanneries in Brazil.

The architect starts thinking about interior architecture with his methodology, which selects three main elements from the clients. Freijó wood, the scale of ashes and the hides were established as these elements. From these, the architect develops a line of thought for applied finishes, secondary elements, and his derivations arriving at an organization chart that dictates the rhythm, organizes the thought and explores the composition and conceptualization of the apartment, making the project more minimalist and creative , escaping from excesses. Parallel to the methodology about concept and compositions, the work of analysis of program needs and layout.

Customers would like a clever layout that streamlines and orchestrates the uses. The social sector is divided into four zones.

The living area, located on the right double foot with the best views to the Barigui Park, is the place to receive more usual. In this zone are contained two armchairs "Altas" of Oscar Niemeyer, bringing deserved refinement to the environment. The lighting is thought of: wall lamps, pendants and lining lamps, designed by designers from Curitiba, make various playful scenarios to the environment. The balcony can be added in this same area, because it is an extension of being by large windows. When opened, they unite the spaces, bringing the interior and exterior to the same common. It stands out the view of the city that organically mixes with the project, being part of the whole.

The dining area is composed of a large table of 3.40 meters signed by a Brazilian designer, organizing the environments and being focal point in this great social area.

The gourmet area is composed of an informal seating, or composed of comfortable armchairs, or by sidewalks. The walls are dressed in Freijó wood panels that give all the coziness for a wine or a barbecue with friends. Finally, the cinema area is treated in a more cozy way to meet movie moments and comfort. Designed by the architect, the golden metal staircase features wooden steps. Arranged in a marble gable, it is a point of connection between the social sector and the intimate sector.

The intimate sector consists of 3 suites: the master suite, the suite of guests and the suite of the future child. The master suite is comprised of the bedroom, the closet and the shower room.

The room features the three primary elements: the wood in the panels, the leather at the headboard and the ash scale in the lacquers, fabrics and furnishings, providing design, comfort and distinction.

The bath room is an oasis apart. Designed in Italian gray marble and finished in Corian and white lacquer, it comforts the look and enables moments like the make-up with its directed lighting and the bathroom with indirect and directional lighting. The closet is designed so that, when entering the room, it becomes a glass showcase to expose bags and shoes. Separated for him and her, the closet is functional and lifts the clothes and resembles an exhibit of luxury shops. The lighting is playful, the illuminated hangers light up as the residents approach the pieces.

The guest suite becomes a space often underutilized. The architect designs a home office that can be used by the residents in the day to day, exploring possibilities, giving value to spaces little moved. The service sector consists of kitchen, laundry, pantry and bathroom for employees that in this project is evidenced by technology, design. The kitchen is divided into parts: cooking, preparation, storage and fast meals, providing various uses, optimizing spaces and services. His concept was based on pure white, bringing the lightness of minimalist design. Amplitude and technology in the home appliances signed by designer Philippe Starck. The laundry room and the pantry are treated as an extension of the kitchen using the same materials, expanding spaces, offering continuity and bringing unity to the project.

The apartment is treated as a frame for the city. It brings minimalist solutions in finishes, design, Brazilian art and especially in Curitiba, promoting local studios. The lighting design is playful and scenographic. Every detail, every finish, is thought to get the true essential of contemporary living. Spaces really used in their fullness. No excesses. The architecture in its pure form, creating warm, true and current spaces. A celebration of contemporary Brazilian living. The apartment is a gift for those who live there.
