Klingmann Architects and Brand Consultants is designing a penthouse addition to a top-floor apartment located in the Gramercy Park Area of Manhattan. The project comprises 1449 sf and includes the design of a study that overlooks the existing living area and a new bedroom that opens out to a rooftop garden. A custom-designed interior staircase connects the new level of the penthouse with the apartment below. Another exterior staircase connects the existing rooftop garden with a new roof deck on top of the new addition that overlooks Gramercy Park.

UPDATE: The project has just successfully passed through the NYC Landmarks Commission.
