In the southern Hessian town of Bürstadt, a detached house was built on the edge of a new development area with mostly prefabricated houses, on a plot of approx. 650m², which, thanks to its location, can be oriented entirely towards free natural space.
The client wanted a modern, minimalist architectural language and - very foresightedly - the opportunity to live barrier-free on one level in old age.
This resulted in a shape in the design process in which the ground floor, upper floor and garage form a cubic interplay. Moving the upper floor creates a covered entrance area in the east and a large roof terrace in the west. On the ground floor, extensive glazing links the open kitchen, dining and living area inside with the terrace and garden. The upper private rooms are accessed via a staircase integrated in the cloakroom furniture and enjoy extensive views over fields and meadows.
