This apartment was designed for a couple who have called this space home for over a decade and decided it was time for a renovation. The goal was to infuse it with a more contemporary feel and a more practical layout, better aligned with their current lifestyle.

The apartment's floor plan was reimagined to prioritize a full use of all spaces. Rooms that were no longer serving a purpose, such as underutilized bedrooms and living areas, were integrated into other functional spaces, maximizing the dimensions and possibilities.

Today, the 300-square-meter apartment features a single bedroom with two walk-in closets and two bathrooms. The expansive living area is one fluid space that integrates multiple zones, along with the kitchen and laundry area.

The chosen finishes favor practicality and easy maintenance, creating a neutral aesthetic that serves as a backdrop. This subtle palette allows both a renewed collection of design pieces and a long-standing, ever-evolving art collection to take center stage.

The curated design pieces include iconic classics like the DS-600 sofa by De Sede and a marquetry desk by Jorge Zalszupin, which belonged to the resident's father. Contemporary highlights include a coffee table by Lucas Recchia and the Tektônica stools from Suite Design.

The art collection spans centuries, featuring works from a 17th-century old master, canvases by Alfredo Volpi, Ianelli, and Milton Da Costa, a portrait of the resident's mother painted by Manabu Mabe, a mobile by Alexander Calder, and pieces by contemporary artists like Beatriz Milhazes, Ernesto Neto, and Leonor Antunes.

Every detail of the project was precisely considered, reinforcing the idea of a design that transcends mere aesthetics. This is a space authentically molded to reflect the life of those who inhabit it.
