Prezmo, Pretzels and More, is India’s first pretzel café. With a combined indoor and outdoor seating capacity of 120, the cafe extends an experience to unwind from the city crowd. The outdoor space on the ground floor is filled with lush greens intertwined with neutral hues of sage, terracotta and beige to set a minimal and comforting ambience. This area is covered by a double-height fabricated structure that adds volume to the space and avoids obstructing the view from the first-floor indoor seating.
Fluidity of the logo translates into the space in the elements of ceiling and patisserie counter. The customer is welcomed by the lush green outdoor seating creating perfect cosy picture corners. Custom-made shot-blasted concrete tiles were added to pave the way along the existing black granite to bring texture and depth into the space. The shot-blasted concrete tiles were customised with abstract patterns introducing Prezmo logo as a part of the branding.
The entry door to the indoor space is adorned with a fluid aluminium design in sage green blending with the concept from the first step into the cafe. Upon entering, the striking connection between the curved ceiling and the patisserie counter creates a subtle harmony. The interplay of colour, flow, and depth fosters a serene and cohesive atmosphere. The L-shape patisserie counter has a textured fluted beige base with two curves in light terracotta and grey, introducing a fluidity to the counter design. The back wall of the counter continues the beige texture while adding a band of green backsplash tile to gently introduce the brand colours into the space. This helps them register in a single view.
From the counter, one can glimpse the detailed staircase design. The intricate railing, with its vibrant pops of colour, beautifully complements the surrounding decor. The delicate additions of circles and semi circles in hues of sage and terracotta reflect the patterns on the shot-blasted tiles. A slightly curved wall, designed to screen the work counter of the wood fire pizza oven station, leads to the staircase.
The harmonious blend of materials, textures, colours and curves creates a sense of unity and visual flow. The ground floor features a few high chairs that serve as a waiting area for takeaway orders. From this spot, patrons can enjoy a view of the outdoors through a picturesque, large panoramic window.
The main indoor seating is on the first floor. The language of lush greens has been carried forth to the first-floor seating with two round seating elements amidst potted greens creating a cosy seating experience. The concrete tiles are laid diagonally on this floor, creating a sense of drama that is seamlessly continued onto the ceiling. The table tops are a mix of wooden, terrazzo and white marble that stand out against the grey flooring. The addition of coloured concrete lights and lime plaster finish add depth to the space. This minimally designed café with lush greenery and soft lighting gives the guest a calm space to unwind while enjoying a coffee and eats in a serene setting.
