Prime Rate Office Building

In 2016, we were commissioned by Prime Rate Ltd, printing services company, to design the interior of a new office building attached to their manufacturing hall in Gödöllő, Hungary. The reception building was expected to serve simultaneously as workplace (office building) and a corporate identity element of the renewing Prime Rate brand.

It was important that the interior reflects on the company's printing services profile, and in parallel, creates a demanding and timeless working environment.

We have been striving to create with simple tools a fresh and valuable quality of interior design, instead of the monotony and "boxed" design solutions that are typical of industrial parks.

Even the slightest creativity entangled in the functional world of industrial parks greatly enriches the built environment as well as provides high-quality working environment for employees, which is uncommon in the industrial sector.

When designing the interior, the concept was based on the diversity of colors and textures typical of the printing industry. We grasped the clear, transparent system of the printing industry, combining those with the possible versatility of the materials used. Not only the colors, the light, but also the touch play an important role in adopting a sophisticated graphic and printing work. So, we wanted to make the interior look immersive at first glance, similarly when looking at a high-quality graphic brochure. Using copper is a fine reference to industrial technology. On the concrete-impact wall of the lobby, we built a new texture with the company's logo, highlighted by uplights that lighten the surface. The glazing of the glass surfaces, the interconnected system of the rooms creates a sense typical of clear, sophisticated graphic works.

The dining room is a venue for play and relaxation, where we recalled another world, the '60s American fast-food interior, with tiny references to the concept, such as dining boxes, metal lights- and boards and saturated colors.

Our client's expectation was to create a simple, clean, yet unique interior appearance, with higher quality, that is distinct from the standard quality characteristic for industrial park investments.

During the design process, the expectation was not only "dressing-up" architectural spaces, but the re-designing and re-thinking inner space relations – and the already shaped conceptions of the client.

Prime Rate employees can now work in a new and motivating environment that they could not experience beforehand. The company's management recognized that the orderly, sophisticated working environment not only delivers a message about the company to the external world, but inwardly to the employees, is also a message of appreciation and acknowledgment of their work. At the beginning of the design process, we had several conversations about this topic with our client, who absolutely agreed to not only think outwards, but also look inside. They agreed to examine the needs of their staff and try to bring the two things - outward and inward - into one platform to create a working environment that is inspiring and makes employees proud.

Based on our customer feedback, we are proud that the interior we created can fulfil its function as corporate identity of the company by radiating a distinct character; and the staff is proud to take possession of it.

The most important feedback in this interior design project was that it was possible to create a lovable, inspiring and characteristic working environment with a strong interior design concept, with specified budget limit and stretched design time.

In addition, we did not have to make any compromise against the functionality required by the work when creating the spatial relationships and interior design atmospheres.

Again, it has become clear to us that quality time spent with the client, intelligent co-operation and compelling attention, adds value and multiplies the goodwill value of the project.
