Lighting Design Description: This is the name of a fast food shop in Qom, a city of Iran. This fast food store is 150 with 50 tables and is suitable for serving 270 guests. The owner of this fast food wanted a unique lighting, in a way that every person notices a different space immediately after arriving. He also wanted to maximum usage of the space at nights. I chose movement of white clouds in the blue sky for this reason. In this plan I use 7 circle shape rings in the diameter 1.9 meter. The diameter of the circles was calculated according to the height of the ceiling. The height of the ceiling is about 6 meters and 7 metal plates were suspended in the distance of 80 cm from the ceiling by 4 invisible bands for each plate. After a lot of investigations, I use the Barrisol PVC cover for rings with 70% of transparency. At night and days, every viewer feels that these plates are suspended in the space of the restaurant. My purpose was to portray the blue sky and slow movement of the white clouds on these plates. For this reason I used 7 GL200 EL projectors made by DERKSEN Co. with Dichroic Cloud Accessories. I choosed dichroic clouds according to this fact that the quality of these Cloud images won't change by passing time, But the case didn't end here. If you choose the cloud accessory on the projector, you will see this image a few of clouds will moving artificial form side to side. But I wanted to simulate the clouds movement of the real sky. After hard examination and doing a lot of tests, I used a special 4 fold Prism lens in front of the main lens of the projector. The result was Excellent. The amount of clouds was four times more than before and their irregular movement, joining and apart, seemed to be real. The direction of cloud movement begins from the entrance door and goes toward the back of the restaurant. By this I wanted to encourage the viewers to come in. I choose the dark blue Color for ceiling, both for having a harmony with white plates and also showing the endless sky. The ceiling light sources are down lighting form recessed ones to produce general lighting for fast food. The light sources which prepare the light for fast food environment are chosen from recessed ones which are erected on the dark blue ceiling. I decided to put them with a disorganized manner to create the sense of night sky. All the cloud projectors have been erected above the false ceiling to hide them from the visitors' vision. Their light comes from rectangular openings and reaches the white rings. Choosing a dark blue background and light sources in disorganized manner have the most beautiful harmony with the suspended plates which the clouds are moving on them. The round plates also have a disorganized arrangement. The only access way to the projectors is these rectangular openings so we choose the size very precisely so that there won't be any problem for maintenance jobs and changing the lamps. Total Power Consumption is approximately 2400W.
