The new parks are conceived as recycling squares. The staff building, the canopy and the signage support the idea of a clear place, a public space in the urban periphery.
The container park is sloped in one big gesture towards the road. In this way the recycling square obtains a powerful facade and thus a recognizable image for both visitors and passers-by.
The raised container park is defined on one side by the containers and on the other side by the staff building with canopy. The level difference facilitates the use of the containers and is realized by means of concrete elements that also form the backbone for the canopy. The containers are perpendicular to the square and can be reached both from the head and from the side. Finally, each container is given a mast with a number, to simplify communication between staff and visitors.
The staff building, also hidden under this canopy, is made up of glued, sawn fast building blocks in which three surfaces are provided with galvanized joinery. The two outer surfaces on both sides of the building contain large corner windows. These give the supervisors a clear view of the square from both the information desk and the staff area. The materiality of the building is inspired by the raw culture of industrial environments: cinder blocks, plywood, pegboard and galvanization sketch a character.
