This unique, sustainable home lies in part in a protected landscape. To reduce its impact on these treasured surroundings, the sleeping quarters have been lowered below grade - a large grass-covered staircase leads to sunken patios that let sunlight and fresh air into the home.
Above ground, the vast landscape is brought into the home. Its orientation makes good use of the sunlight to capture the sun's warmth, while using sun blinds where necessary. The home also respects the environment by making use of sustainable materials, heat/cold storage for cooling and heating and is highly insulated.
