How long we live isn't just written in our DNA — estimates vary, but genetics accounts for roughly a quarter to half of it. The rest comes down to the environment. And since we spend most of our lives at home, the place we live in can either support our health or quietly undermine it.
EYWA Tree of Life is Dubai's first residential project built entirely around the idea of longevity. It's developed by R.Evolution, a European developer with 27 years of experience and projects from Riga to Barcelona. The concept — Energy, Youthfulness, Wellbeing, Ancient Knowledge — treats the home not just as a building, but as a living ecosystem where architecture, ancient knowledge and modern technology work together.
The tower sits on the largest lagoon of the Dubai Water Canal, tucked away from city noise. It's 19 storeys with 52 residences, including two penthouses. The design is inspired by the Banyan tree — a symbol of strength and continuous growth — and that idea runs through the whole building. A 15,000 sq. ft. amenities floor houses a spa, gym, library, music lounge and crystal gardens, and residents also get access to a dedicated Longevity Concierge for personalized health guidance.
The health focus is built into the materials too. Finishes are non-toxic and radiation-free — Roman travertine, terracotta, Australian Paldao wood — chosen because they age well, not just because they look good.
Water is treated differently depending on where it's used. It runs through a multi-stage purification and mineralization system, with drinking water kept at pH 7–8, shower water below pH 6 to be gentler on skin and hair, and pool water treated separately as well. Air is filtered to MERV-14 standard, with added UV sterilization, and the ventilation is cleaned by robots. The building is also shielded by the EMFIS certification, which cuts down electromagnetic exposure from wiring, Wi-Fi and everyday devices.
An AI-powered smart home system manages energy use and building systems, so the sustainability effort doesn't stop once construction ends. For all this, EYWA has earned three platinum certifications — LEED, WELL and WiredScore — making it one of the first developments of its kind in the UAE.
