"The Ridola cafè in my vision is a meeting place of thinking minds, a cultural gathering place. There is a line of thought that unites everything that the place offers and that could succinctly coincide with the concept dear to me of living slowly. The use of the place is not fast... guests have time to reflect on what they taste, not only food but also pictures, sounds and words.

This is the concept that underlies the philosophy of the place."
Matera, a place with a complex history, which has made its culture rich in traditions its own springboard.

"Tradition", not surprisingly, is the key word to understand the project, which starting from a research on the ancient arts and crafts of Lucan manages to center the precise requests of the client.

Located in the heart of Matera, the Ridola is a small and cozy place whose perception has been expanded with the help of a reflective glass on one of the short walls that delimit the environment. This mirrored glass has allowed to mask two screens that, with their intangible presence and the non-stop projection of images, contribute to give a living, dynamic and contemporary atmosphere to the room.

However, what characterizes the project is the treatment of the surfaces of the walls to which the task is entrusted to reinterpret the message conveyed by tradition; large rose windows, obtained from the engraving of iron slabs, recall the processing of lace and tuff and thanks to a double leather wood become containers and exhibitors for hand-made products, put on sale by the owners.

The atmosphere is made warm and welcoming thanks to the use of light oak, used for flooring, for the lining of the counter and for the tables; and is embellished with a seemingly random succession of large contemporary lanterns.

Two only materials, metal and wood to enhance the original structure in tuff left exposed in the barrel vault and that emerges here and there on the walls.
