ARCHITECTURAL RESTYLING RESTAURANT AND CONFECTIONERY MARCHIORO LUIGI
The architectural restyling of the headquarters of the Marchioro group, historic pastry shop, restaurant and catering located in Vigonza in the province of Padua, has been completed recently. The intervention on the two buildings, dating back to the late 60s, was conceived to enhance the face of the town center and Via Roma, a project conceived by the Ceoldo group and in which it has been engaged for several years. The restyle, realized in collaboration with the designer Valeria Milan and the architect Paolo Ceoldo, revisits the traditional use of terracotta, already present in the architectural complex of the town square, through an innovative and original installation system, thus creating a connection between the past and the present.
For the lining of the main and side facades of the well-known restaurant and confectionery, this theme was addressed by treating the bricks as a plot: a brick texture, produced by Fornace Sant'Anselmo and installed by MDM Srl, which glides the facades with elegance like a fabric. Each brick was fixed to the uprights of the support structure in painted steel by means of joints, determining therefore also the inclination to the aim to value the volumes with lights and shadows.
The use of terracotta is combined with the use of metal sheets with a corten effect that wrap around the remaining building: the crimped sheet, made with the The Skin system by Mazzonetto SpA, is a kind of hi-tech leathertech that brings out the architectural volumes of covers and canopies with essential shapes, which is flanked by the perforated sheet that contains the external stairs, adding with its play of transparencies a refined touch to the whole.
Other areas of the buildings are shielded by expanded metal panels, in particular around the body of the stairs! back building, seat of the administrative and catering offices. To complement the project and as a fundamental component there is also lighting, which gives poetry to the overall design highlighting with wisdom full and empty, with the use of lighting fixtures that are integrated with the coverings.
