In the Morumbi district in San Paolo, surrounded by villas with swimming pool and luxury apartment blocks, the small residential building of Rua Harmonia seems to portray the strong generative contrasts of energy that characterise the modernity of the South American megalopolis. The irregular geometry of the building along the street unites the two adjacent structures by aligning itself towards their different heights, while the corten steel facing covers the façades like a shield. The abstract connection between life on the street and in the home is achieved through the two large square openings that are high at the front and the back, with just one single, fixed window, together with the terrace on the third floor. Essential elements in the composition of the façades or concealed in the skylights, with strong, secure SA 15 and slim, high performance 0S2 profiles the doors and windows have to correspond to both the idea of the project and the need for isolation and security to protect the interior: an elegant ambient in which the chromatic richness of the materials and the design evoke the modernist Latin American tradition.
