Building Plot C marks the first phase of the redevelopment of the former Rüttimann carpentry site in Siebnen, part of the municipality of Galgenen. The project introduces a new mixed-use building on a site bordered by the heavily trafficked Zürcherstrasse to the north and the preserved historic façade of the former furniture factory to the east. The design is based on the "Rüttimann-Areal Süd" masterplan, which defines the framework for the site's long-term transformation.
Reflecting the gradual evolution of the area, which is recognised in the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites (ISOS), the architectural concept follows the principle of an additive composition of volumes. The ensemble consists of four rectangular buildings of varying heights, ranging from three to five storeys, arranged in a staggered sequence. Additional single-storey volumes complement the composition, creating a finely articulated urban fabric.
The ground floor accommodates commercial spaces, while the upper floors provide residential apartments. Two basement levels contain underground parking, storage areas and technical facilities.
The landscape concept distinguishes between two complementary outdoor spaces. Along the cantonal road, a hard-surfaced streetscape reinforces the urban character of the development. To the south, a generous green courtyard offers a contrasting atmosphere, featuring trees, shrubs, flowering meadows, open lawns, a playground and communal recreation areas that encourage everyday interaction among residents.
