A complete interior transformation of a villa in Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai: 6,242 sq ft of built-up area on a 7,800 sq ft plot, with five bedrooms, an office, six bathrooms and a dual kitchen (a show kitchen facing the dining room and a working kitchen behind it).
The palette is warm and quiet: oak floors, walnut joinery and stone selected by the slab, arranged around a planted garden at the centre of the plan so every principal room looks onto green. A cantilevered stair rises through a double-height void wrapped in bronze-tinted glass. Every tread springs from a steel spine concealed in the wall, engineered by the group’s own structural engineer. Beneath it, a preserved olive tree stands in a garden of stone and pebble, installed in the final days of the build so the tree came to no harm.
Around 500 sq m of wall panelling in seven finishes and more than 50 joinery packages, including both kitchens, vanities, wardrobes and the bar counter, were drawn and made in DMDC Woodworks’ own facility in Dubai. The entrance feature wall brings six finishes and two concealed doors into one plane.
Specification: Lutron automation, Gaggenau appliances, smart glass, imported Canadian window systems and Kohler sanitaryware.
