The world of hair salon has completely changed in the last few years. Today there is an ever increasing attention to design perhaps more than in other sectors. For that reason, too, Sax Parrucchieri has decided to take a new look and renovate the interiors of his historic salon, located in one of the most lively and busy streets of the university area in Bologna. It was necessary to redesign the spaces, the style, the identity of the whole business.
Moltefacce has designed the interiorsstarting from fewvery efficient inputs: industrial and contemporary mood, basic and rational.
The large space available has been divided in smaller functional areas, divided by pressed metal sheets, anchored to floor and ceiling. The framework of the mirrors, of the armchairs of the washbasins and of the other decor accessories are made in metal sheets, too. The metal sheet is a cold material and this effect has beenattenuated by the natural wood, used to cover the big reception counter. It can become, when needed, a bar counter where chatting and doing consultation, the whole informally.
The copper pipes and the vintage LED light bulbs contribute to warm the location, with itineraries accompanying the customers, studied to allow a view of larger spaces.
On the floorand in the toilet, resin, a tough and uniform material, made hard by a careful laying. The wallpaper, Inkiostro Bianco, looking as lived in, materic, coherent with the interiors.
The project has completely changed the interiors of the salon and, above all, the way of living it daily. Today the Hair Salon isn’t no more an impersonalplace where you wait for your turn reading carelessly a magazine in a space without zest. Today the hair salon is a sharing experience, a comfortable place where you can take a light break while outside everything flows quickly.
