The Project wants to build in a contemporary way the conceptual and formal structure of the old tropical hut, understanding its bioclimatic intelligence and the cultural value implicit in the circular space, from an intimate concept of centrality, continuity, comfort, ease of social relations.

The building is structured through the grouping of cylinders on a light platform, which respond specifically to the differents functions - classrooms, administrative area and services - under a single cover.

The spatial separation between the volumes and the cover establishes a generous empty space for cross ventilation, avoiding the heating of the classrooms.

The building materials are very simple: the cylindrical walls are made up of vertical strips of concrete blocks and openings with a permeable enclosure protected by metal rods. Full and empty strips generate a musical rhythm and allow the entry and continuous crossing of the breezes.

The surface of the roof flies over the cylinders supported by circular metal columns that are free of the walls.

The platform, that works as a large urban banking, allow the space to be used in different ways, according to the needs of the community that were manifested through interviews, workshops and public meetings in the first phase of the project.
