Café Sebastiana is a space marked by the strong personality of its owners, who offer sophisticated yet accessible specialty coffees. The design focuses on creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where visitors can stay, engage, and connect, breaking away from the usual quick turnover typical of many coffee shops. Power outlets and internet access foster a comfortable and visually appealing atmosphere.
The aesthetic blends the owners’ contemporary urban style with the warmth and nostalgia of a grandmother’s countryside home. Features such as the woven cane panel, dark wood furniture, hydraulic tiles, ferns, and wall ceramics evoke the affectionate memory of grandmothers in Minas Gerais, reinforcing the space’s local identity. The café’s name honors one owner’s grandmother, deepening this emotional connection.
Beyond serving coffee, Sebastiana acts as a cultural hub, hosting film screenings, lectures, and coffee and gastronomy workshops. Flexible, movable furniture enables varied layouts to suit different events. The red vertical panel, inspired by a velvet curtain, geometrically organizes the café’s signature curved logo, emphasizing the contrast between old and new, as well as the iconic “S” that names the space.
