The site is in an important preservation districts which is called “The street of Unomachi”. This project was driven by building regulations where mainly focused to preserve the city view. The building regulations are using “traditional wooden construction method”, “Basic construction method with chart stone”, “corbel” and “wall stucco”. Part of these elements were contradictory to the existing building standard act of Japan, but we managed to completed after several structural experiments.
Throughout the process of planing, we provide workshops that help to reflect the townscapes. Using native plants from Seiyo city and turf blocks for parking pavement which enables cars to drive into the parking area.
