The conversion and restoration work has created a place of remembrance of the former synagogue, which now houses a foyer and event room for concerts, readings, symposia and lectures. The building of the former synagogue from the 18th century in the community of Fellheim has been preserved in its basic substance and fragments of the furnishings. Visitors can see the original form and use of the building as a matter of course. From the roof truss to the former windows and door forms as well as remains of paintings, elements of the synagogue are preserved.

Like the traces of change and destruction as well as wounds from the past, everything new is consciously shown. No added element is added, adapted or concealed in the original architectural language. All necessary new elements are inserted in such a way that they are perceptibly different from the existing building fabric.

The entire space on the ground floor can be used as a unit or, if required, divided into foyer and event space. The former staircase was rebuilt as a modern element. Via this external stair tower one reaches the gallery on the first floor, the former women's gallery, where a small community library is located and where further spectators can find space for events.
