Just like the literal meaning of a train platform — a place where you get on and off a train — this space was designed to offer an escape from the complexities and fatigue of daily life, as if you were momentarily embarking on a journey.
To capture the feeling of leisurely sipping a drink at a quiet train station somewhere in Europe, we used aged brick walls, vintage finishes, and nostalgic signage that evoke the charm of an old railway stop.
The gentle sound of a drink being poured, the rich aromas that linger in the air, and the new tastes and textures that unfold with every sip — we wanted to create a space where visitors can unwind with a slow glass of whiskey and peacefully close out their long, exhausting day, much like they would at a quiet European station.
This is THE PLATFORM — a name that speaks for itself.
It is a space where, at the end of a long and tiring day, one can feel the excitement of travel and the comfort of rest, as if arriving at an old train station.
It’s a place where soft ambient sounds fill your ears, aromas drift gently through the air, and new flavors bloom in your mouth, offering quiet solace through a slow sip of whiskey.
We envisioned this space as a haven where visitors can find stillness, emotional rest, and a sense of calm.
This design was guided by three core intentions:
1. Brand Identity – to create a place of “rest” for those weary from the pressures of daily life.
2. Atmosphere – to emulate the experience of pausing at a train station after a long journey.
3. Problem Solving – to address the lack of truly relaxing spaces in today’s fast-paced urban environment.
We restructured the space by addressing its structural limitations — particularly the constrictive pillars on both sides — dividing it into two zones: an inner bar area and an outer space that resembles a cozy train station interior. This effectively resolved the spatial constraints while reinforcing the theme.
Inspired by the tranquility of an old train station, we aimed to offer every visitor a uniquely comforting experience.
Unlike a typical whiskey bar, the space brings together vintage brick and exposed concrete, warm lighting, and thoughtful details to create a serene ambiance.
The bar is lined with mirrored wall finishes on either side, visually expanding the space and creating the illusion of infinite depth.
Ultimately, THE PLATFORM is a place where you can unwind as if resting at a peaceful train station — a quiet retreat from the day’s demands, designed to bring rest, reflection, and calm.
