Dr. Shette’s residence in the bustling city of Pune, designed by Abhisti Architects is an epitome of modern luxury, showcasing a perfect blend of finesse and functionality. Spread across an area of 2800 sq. ft., the project took 9 months to come to pass. Being clearly envisioned by the clients and brought to life by the designers, the abode symbolizes sophistication, spaciousness, and comfort by offering an ideal balance between lavishness and livability.
Having a home that is luxurious and embraced contemporary design along with a neutral color palette was a simple yet profound brief from the client. With a focus on crafting spacious public spaces including living room and the entrance foyer, the client desired for ample seating that could foster comfort. The project team set out to create spaces that could be portrayed as a timeless design while reflecting these values. Starting off with an in-depth concept development and mood board creation, the team finalized the layout that ensured open, airy spaces while aligning the overall vibe with a color palette consisting of whites, beiges, and blacks. Keeping the furniture and décor customized, the space planning was highly focused on maximizing the functionality of every corner while working on maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the domicile.
The spacious living room of the house conceptualized with a neo-classical theme was adorned with Italian marble flooring in beige that contributed to a pristine and elegant foundation of the house’s aesthetic. The walls feature PU painted HDHMR (High- Density High Moisture Resistant) wainscoting panels. The panels were paired with marble or stone cladding for accent walls to add a layer of texture and richness. The color scheme comprising soft beige and grey tones resulted in a welcoming atmosphere. Boasting of a plush velvet and suede upholstery in muted jewel tones, complemented by leather sofas and a modern, accent chair featuring buckle fabric, the space is bestowed with grandeur. Additionally, the space is lit with statement chandeliers that add splendor, while cove lighting embedded in the gypsum false ceiling softens the space’s ambiance.
In continuation with the living area’s neo-classical theme, the kitchen screams elegance with every look showcasing high-end black pearl granite countertops. If that wasn’t enough opulence, the PU painted HDHMR textured panels in cabinetry bring out a perfect monochromatic essence in the space. The dining area, with its personalized furniture and an exquisite chandelier placed above the dining table add finesse. Imparting a balanced sense of efficient functionality and aesthetic, the kitchen and dining maintain a sophisticated modern appeal. The bathrooms in the house, crafted using high-end materials are equally luxurious. Displaying marble finishes and metallic accents along with sumptuous sanitaryware and mirrors, the bathrooms offer a spa-like retreat in a homely setting.
Epitomizing lavishness and tranquility, the master bedroom is a serene retreat offering a harmonious amalgamation of beige Italian marble flooring and wainscoting wall finishes. The most captivating element in the room are the pop-up red shelves crafted from HDHMR with PU paint and a plush area rug. A pop of bright red in the furniture and wall panels within the soft feminine pink tones of the upholstery, makes the room stand out. Leather and buckle fabric were used for upholstery reflecting a keen inclination towards comfort and chic.
A sanctuary crafted for youthful dreams; the son’s bedroom is a space where placidity meets wanderlust. Unfolding with an eye-catching world map mural and a personalized touch with the young occupant’s name adorning the wall, the space is transformed into a unique haven. A layered palette of blues- from the plush velvet upholstery to the soft, sheer curtains and wainscoting, results into an overall calming atmosphere. Ample natural light floods into the space through the windows, enhancing the room’s spaciousness while modern wall lights continue to cast a gentle glow throughout.
Furthermore, the guest bedroom exhibits a refined blend of neutral hues, metallic accents and fluted wall panels bringing in the warmth in the room. Following the same set of materials as the other spaces in the house, the guest bedroom is bedecked with Italian marble flooring in beige and PU painted HDHMR wall panels. Golden metallic shelves near TV console adds to the grace of the space and its understated luxury.
A key factor in the project’s success was its commitment to sustainability and efficient execution. The materials chosen were not only visually appealing but also sustainable and durable. Every element, from the materials to the lighting and the furniture pieces, was thoughtfully chosen to create a timeless space and a comfortable home. A spacious layout, neutral colors, and personalized touches, reflect the true essence of the client’s sophisticated taste and the design team’s expertise. An ode to the contemporary exquisiteness and practicality, Dr. Shette’s home is a result of successful collaboration between the client and the designers.
