Nature and technology entwine in the interior and landscaping of Therma Numera SPA & Wellness in an attempt to decode the formula for longevity. Located at the foot of Eastern Stara Planina mountain range and in close proximity to the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, the SPA and wellness complex is conceived as a modern temple of health.
Over an area of more than 7,000 sq m. are located SPA, cryotheraphy, medical and detox zones, a fitness center, a restaurant, a bar, a hotel, outdoor gardens and parking. Embodied in the interior and landscaping of the complex, the elements of nature – air, earth, water, fire – are distilled through modern technologies and traditional manual techniques into materials, textures, shapes and colors, accompanying visitors on a healing experience.
The minimalist design of the complex, combining stone, metal, leather and wood, is a reference to the eternal power of nature and the earth's depths, forming the mineral waters of the environs. In contrast to the matte reflections of aluminum are machine-milled hand-hammered marble, delicate plant details, lighting in warm hues and geometric panels with structural paint.
The generous glazing throughout the complex is most noticeable in the SPA, where sunlight reaches even deep into the relaxation and water treatment areas, and the raised stone detailing of the interior echoes beyond the outlines of the building.
The cryotheraphy, medical and detox centers, the fitness center, as well as all SPA areas – indoor and outdoor mineral pools, jacuzzi, Kneipp pool, salt mineral pool, infrared sauna, Finnish saunas, steam bath, salt room, relaxation room, footbaths, hot, peeling and Kneipp showers, changing rooms, sauna garden, sun gardens, massage rooms – conform to a minimalist palette. Its means of expression include granite tiles for wall and floor finishes, natural lime plaster, glass, aluminum, stainless steel, details made of bushhammered and polished marble, genuine leather and finely cast high-strength concrete.
In the complex's restaurant, the palette of natural tones and materials is complemented by earthy brown and caramel shades of textiles, natural wood veneer with black oil stain, powder-coated sheet metal. Along with the main reception of the complex and the SPA bar, this is the third place in the complex where a carpet of granite tiles with a motif specific to the complex has been laid. The space is accented with a wall panel with a three-dimensional water effect, achieved through parametric digital modeling, machine milling, hand painting and polishing.
