Behind the counter, this 20m² bar reveals the challenging world of chefs searching for “new homes” in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Tijolada occupies two separate storefronts in the Astória building in Ipanema. The bar and kitchen are apart—six stores separate Chef Thomás Troisgros' operation. On one side is the bar, and on the other, the kitchen, where dishes are prepared and carried under the canopy toward the tables and chairs of the bar.
