The owners, an old couple, dreamed of going back to the countryside. They wanted to build a small weekend house where the whole family can gather. It is like a hideaway from everyday life. Since it is a vacation house, easy maintenance and reasonable construction cost are crucial. Therefore, the design evolved to use relatively simple forms and durable materials. It transformed a traditional gable roof into a floating box-shaped form.
