The building benefits from an especially privileged view, thanks to the ground conformation it is located in, that leads guests sight through a few kilometres of downward slope, through coastal countryside and Mediterranean scrubland, sliding down to the blue sea of lively town of Marina di Ragusa. The principal aim of this project is to establish a strong relationship between the internal environment and the landscape, opening the view by installing large windows and in particular, by considering how spaces will be used, so that the outdoor area will always take part of the daily life in the indoor environment.
The flooring expands in the surrounding area, creating a garden composed by green, water and concrete, through which the house seems to blend in the landscape, opening to the green and the horizon. At the same time, the green, the plants and the trees seem to hug the artificial space giving rise to a relaxing environment, balanced and fully immersive (in the nature, in the landscape, in the universe).
The living area opens to the landscape thanks to the large windows, which link the living and the kitchen to the sea and the infinity edge pool in the garden. In this area, it's difficult to understand the limit between the pool and the sea, thanks to the inclined land and to the obstacle-free view. A big overhang runs around the whole southern front (towards the privileged views) creating a long loggia which turns to the western area on a larger terrace that overlooks the pool, as a natural extension of the living area and the kitchen, ideal for aperitifs, dinners and the evening relaxation.
The sleeping quarters, composed of three large ensuite bedrooms, are connected with the living area through wall systems, where storage rooms, closets and equipment rooms are located. The windows and the glazed cuts establish an intimate bond with the garden, and in the case of the master bedroom, also with the landscape, embellished with plants, bushes and trees, typical of the local Mediterranean vegetation.
