Villa Kovera is a private residence in Abu Dhabi designed by Noon Design Studio for an Emirati family of seven. Conceived around the idea of refined whimsy, the project explores how contemporary interiors can combine understated elegance with warmth, personality and moments of playfulness. Rather than relying on visual excess, the design achieves richness through carefully layered materials, sculptural forms and a restrained yet expressive colour palette.
Responding to the family’s preference for clean, refined interiors, Noon Design Studio developed a home that feels calm and timeless while reflecting the individuality of its occupants. Throughout the villa, natural textures, tactile finishes and thoughtfully curated furniture create depth without compromising the clarity of the spaces. Greens in varying tones become a recurring thread across the interiors, complemented by natural stone, timber, leather and soft textiles that bring warmth and subtle contrast.
Flexibility was central to the planning of the home. Social spaces were designed to adapt to both formal entertaining and everyday family life, with movable furniture allowing the majlis to transform according to different occasions. The kitchen and family areas encourage interaction, while generous openings establish a continuous dialogue between the interior and the surrounding landscape, allowing the garden to become a natural extension of the living spaces.
A sculptural staircase, framed by an olive tree, acts as the visual centrepiece of the villa, introducing organic forms that soften the architectural geometry. This relationship between architecture and nature continues throughout the project, where light, materiality and carefully framed views create a sense of calm and connection to the outdoors.
Each private space develops its own character while remaining connected to the home’s overall design language. The master suite adopts a richer, more introspective palette through custom furniture, sculptural seating and contemporary materials, while the children’s rooms are designed with longevity in mind, combining a minimalist foundation with elements that can evolve over time. Guest and family bedrooms reinterpret the same principles through distinctive palettes and textures, creating individual identities without disrupting the coherence of the overall composition.
Villa Kovera reflects Noon Design Studio’s approach to residential design: creating homes where careful planning, refined detailing and a strong understanding of everyday living come together to produce spaces that are elegant, functional and deeply personal.
