Bespoke windows, multi panels lift&slide, automated kneefold opening shutter and pergola with custom-designed frame and fixed louvre. Entirely made of stainless steel AISI 316. Villa Papillon redefines the relationship between art, architecture, and landscape.
Designed for a Lebanese art collector and his family, the villa is a harmonious blend of interconnected spaces surrounding an open-air patio. The main living areas, including the master bedroom, face the sea, while the family room, dining room, and kitchen open onto the courtyard. Upstairs, the children's rooms overlook the living room, creating visual connections between the spaces, with the Mediterranean ever-present.
The large glazed facades, made of AISI 316 stainless steel with multi-mirror sliding lift-up doors, fully open the house to the sea. These windows and doors are equipped with custom Capoferri hardware, designed to facilitate the manual movement of the large, heavy panels. Interior spaces are organized by a series of walls perpendicular to the shore, ensuring uninterrupted sea views from every room, while also serving as galleries to showcase the extensive art collection. Each wall functions as a standalone structure, dividing spaces and incorporating elements such as staircases, cabinets, and other household infrastructure.
The large louvers and automated knee-opening gratings, also made of AISI 316 stainless steel, are strategically designed to provide shade during the summer and allow sunlight in during the winter months.
The triangular shape of the villa's roof is echoed throughout the design, from the patio to the pool, creating a seamless dialogue between architecture and landscape.
