The house, ruled by the sophisticated volume constraints of the master plan designed by Architecten CIE, is facing a newly-traced boulevard of “architect’s villas” between two museums. The desires of the large client’s family are satisfied by a simple scheme wrapping around the inner green lawn. While the street side responds with its volumetric articulations and its dark brown brick to the “stately” intentions of the plan, the freely articulated back translucent glass screen façade generates a more informal “domestic landscape” for everyday family life.
