Werf07 is a true pioneer in Scheveningen. For most people, housing development in this part of the harbor seemed a distant prospect, but DAVL Studio saw it as a great opportunity for development.

Although the land was zoned for commercial use, we believed that this location near the beach had enormous potential. Not only for housing, but also for small-scale commercial units. That is why, after extensive consultation with the municipality and local residents, we successfully completed the zoning plan amendment procedure.

We provided buyer guidance for each future resident and designed a separate floor plan for each home that meets the wishes and requirements of the buyer. This makes each home unique.

The project consists of 14 commercial units of 90 square meters on the ground floor. These could be combined with the homes directly above them. The slightly larger commercial space is located on the corner. The rest of the building consists of 20 apartments, ranging from 72 to 153 square meters.

Werf07 is a building with robust, sturdy materials that refer to the industrial past of the location. This is necessary, with the sea so close by. Large overhangs ensure good light incidence. Each home has a private outdoor space in the form of a balcony or terrace.
