Winery Tramin

The new winery in Tramin is an iconic architectural landmark that merges contemporary design with the surrounding vineyard landscape. The façade concept is inspired by the morphology of the vine, creating a strong visual connection between the building and its environment.

The defining feature of the project is the expressive outer structure composed of vine-like aluminium elements that wrap around a complex, angular glass façade. These sculptural components create a dynamic interplay of light, shadow, and depth, giving the building its distinctive identity.

Metall Ritten was responsible for the execution of the glass façade and the fabrication of the aluminium “vine” structure. A key technical challenge was the production and assembly of approximately 500 unique aluminium elements, each individually manufactured with high precision and fully welded and finished to ensure a seamless appearance.

The project represents a combination of architectural vision and advanced metal construction, contributing significantly to one of South Tyrol’s most recognized contemporary winery buildings.

Products used

  • Aluminium (vine structure): approx. 30,000 kg
  • Glass fassade: approx. 1,200 m²
  • Aluminium elements: approx. 500 custom-made units, thickness 5 mm
