In this bookstore project, the design opens up the center of the building by connecting the previously separated first and second floors, creating a shared atrium that vertically links the entire space. This atrium is not only a circulation core but also an open and fluid platform that invites public engagement.

The flooring continues the same brick material used outdoors, blurring the boundary between interior and street, allowing the space to visually and experientially extend into the surrounding neighborhood. Beneath the staircase, a seating area surrounded by greenery and natural light offers a comfortable place to pause, while a coffee counter along one side draws in passersby to stop and linger.

Serving as both a connector and a gathering hub, the atrium brings flexibility and vitality to the bookstore. It can host daily reading activities, cultural events, and community interactions—becoming a place where locals and travelers alike can meet, share, and exchange ideas.
